Waitara Before & After School Care

Our Programme

1) Before School Care

Children decide to participate in programmed activities or free play. Activities are incorporated based on children’s suggestions and the Framework “My time, Our Place”. Children engage in free play, art & craft activities or play outdoors if the weather permits.

A parent or an adult must sign-in their child for each before care session. We do not serve breakfast.

2) After School Care

Similar to the activities in the morning, children engage in programmed activities or free play. They are encourgaed to join different clubs like science, gardening, art, sports etc. or engage in simply play with friends if they so choose.

A parent or an adult must sign-out their child for each after care session. We serve afternoon tea every day.

3) Vacation Care

We have an awesome fun filled vacation care program, which includes a range of incursions and a combination of outdoor & indoor activities. This is a great opportunity for children to make new friends.

A parent or an adult must sign-in and sign-out their child on each day of the vacation care programme. We  serve afternoon tea every day.

Our Staff

Your child’s well-being & safety is at the heart of everything we do at Waitara BASC. Our team of educators work hard to create a caring & child friendly environment for all children in our care.  We follow a ratio of 1 educator for every 15 children at all times. All educators must undergo a ‘Working with Children Check’ before commencing work with us. We have a very talented & dedicated team and each member significantly contributes in the running of the service and its programmes.

Policies & procedures

Waitara BASC has many policies and procedures in place that are required to be followed by all stakeholders. These are reviewed by parents and a copy of policies & procedures is available at the centre.

Assessment & Rating

Waitara BASC is an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service operating under the National Quality Framework (NQF). The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) oversees the national implementation of the NQF. In NSW, the regulator for OSHC services is the Department of Education’s Early Childhood Education Directorate (ECED).

As a requirement of the NQF, an approved OSHC service is assessed against the National Quality Standard and given a rating against seven quality areas, plus an overall rating. Ratings are published to provide parents and the community more information about individual services.
